The property is located at the upper end of the Herrenberg in Rapperswil, west of Engelplatz and opposite the parish church .
Building history
The building complex consists of two adjoining buildings, both of which are half-timbered buildings with a gable roof . There is a small fountain on Herrenberg-Gasse. The eastern part of the Herrenberg 51 to 55 building, like the adjoining building, has three floors - the two upper floors are designed with red-colored half-timbering, the wooden beams of the western part of the building are gray. The year 1681 at the entrance with house number 51 indicates the year it was built, the western part of the property is said to date back to the 16th century.
The property is a listed building and was renovated in 1970. The beneficiary houses are owned by the Roman Catholic parish of Rapperswil-Jona.
