Phaungkaza Maung Maung

Phaungkaza Maung Maung (Phaungasa Min Thaya Gyi, Burmese : ဖောင်း ကား စား မောင်မောင် , spoken pʰàʊɴɡázá màʊɴ màʊɴ ; born September 12, 1763 in Sagaing ; † February 11, 1782 in Ava ) was King of the Burmese Kingdom of Ava for a short time.

Life

Phaungkaza Maung Maung was the eldest son of Naungdawgyi (ruled 1760-1763), the second king of the Konbaung dynasty , and his wife Shin Hpo U. He was made Prince of Phaungka in early youth. His cousin, Singu Min , was the fourth king of the dynasty since 1776, but raised the nobility against him because he no longer pursued or was unable to pursue the expansion policy of his father Hsinbyushin (r. 1763 to 1776), as the country was due to the many Wars was bled to death.

While Singu Min was on a journey, Phaungkaza Maung Maung occupied the throne in Ava on February 5, 1782 with the help of his followers. A short time later his uncle, the Prince of Badon , came to oust the usurper from the throne on February 11th and make himself King Bodawpaya (ruled 1782 to 1819). The childless Phaungkaza Maung Maung and his main wife Nammadaw Mibura Hkaung Gyi were drowned on the same day. The other three women stayed alive in those days.
