Phil Olsen

Phil Olsen (actually Philip Olsen; born January 31, 1957 in Nanaimo ) is a former Canadian javelin thrower .

In 1975 he was fifth at the Pan American Games in Mexico City , eleventh at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , where he set up his personal best of 87.76 m in qualifying, and in 1978 he won the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton .

At the Pan American Games in 1979 in San Juan and at the Commonwealth Games in Brisbane in 1982 he was fourth and seventh at the Pan American Games in 1983 in Caracas.

He was Canadian champion six times (1973-1976, 1982, 1983). In 1976 he was starting NCAA champions for the University of Tennessee .
