Philipp Gessert
Philipp Gessert († in the 17th century) came from the Electoral Palatinate and was an Evangelical Reformed preacher in the collegiate monastery Grönenbach .
Life
Phillip Gessert (also Philippus Gessertus ) was a Calvinist preacher in Grönenbach. In 1621 he was expelled from Grönenbach by decree of September 2, 1621 by the Prince Abbot of Kempten Johann Eucharius von Wolffurt and with the aid of Count Otto Heinrich Fugger . With his expulsion, the simultaneous use and exercise of the Calvinist retreat in the Catholic collegiate church of St. Philip and Jacob in Bad Grönenbach ended.
