Philipp von Katzenelnbogen († 1173 ) was bishop of Osnabrück from 1141 to 1173 .

He came from the Katzenelnbogen house . His parents were Heinrich I. von Katzenelnbogen and Luidgard von Heimbach (who later married Hermann von Stahleck ). He was the brother of Heinrich II von Katzenelnbogen. At the same time he was the uncle of Diether von Katzenelnbogen, who was provost of the Andreasstift and chancellor of Heinrich VI. was. Philipp was loyal to the emperor. In 1144 he was involved in the destruction of Holter Castle . He is considered the founder of the Quernheim nunnery .
