Philippe du Terrail († 1532 ) was a French bishop .

Life

Philippe du Terrail was a brother of the famous general Pierre du Terrail , the "knight without fear and blame". He was brought up in the palace of his uncle Louis Allemand , brother of his mother and Bishop of Grenoble . The uncle also gave him a canon of his diocese. Philippe soon became dean of the chapter and in 1520 Bishop of Glandèves . Nothing is known about the twelve years of his episcopate. When he died in 1532, his brother Jacques succeeded him in office.
