The Philippi Glacier is a 25 km long glacier in the East Antarctic Kaiser Wilhelm II Land . It flows in a northerly direction to the eastern end of the West Ice Shelf , which it reaches 25 km west of the Gaußberg .
Aerial photographs of the US American Operation Highjump (1946–1947) were used to map it. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named him after the German geologist Emil Philippi (1871-1910), a member of the Gauss expedition (1901-1903) headed by Erich von Drygalskis , who worked in the area around the Gaußberg on this research trip , among other things was.
