Philip (son of Agathocles)
Philippos ( Greek Φίλιππος ; † 328/327 BC), son of Agathocles, was a soldier of Alexander the great in the 4th century BC. His brothers were the future Diadoche Lysimachos and Autodikos and probably Alkimachos .
During the last battles against local nests of resistance in Central Asian Sogdia in the winter of 328 to 327 BC, Philip was defeated . Called in the temporal context after the capture of the rock castle of Sisimithres . He fought on foot alongside the mounted Alexander, which probably identifies him as a member of the guard corps ( agema ) of the shield bearers ( hypaspistai ). Mortally wounded, he died in the arms of Alexander.
