Philologus of Rome
Philologus was a student of the apostle Paul in Rome . In addition to Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Hermas, Patrobas, Julia, Nereus and Olympas, he is greeted by Paul in Romans ( Rom. 16.15 EU ). It is unclear whether this Philologus is to be equated with Philologus of Sinope , who belongs to the Seventy Disciples . In any case, the Catholic Church commemorates both as saints on different days, the Philologus of Sinope on January 4th and the Roman Philologus on November 4th .
