Philo of Gadara
Philo of Gadara ( Greek Φίλων , 2nd century) was an ancient Greek mathematician and came from one of the cities called Gadara .
Philo was the teacher of Sporus from Nikaia and improved the approximation for Pi from Archimedes . This information, which comes from Sporos, was handed down by Eutokios in his commentary on Archimedes' measurement of the circle . No further information is known about Philon.
