Phintias (potter)

Phintias ( ancient Greek Φιντίας ) was a Greek potter who lived at the end of the 4th century BC. Was active in Athens .

He is only known for his signature as a potter on an acorn lekythos in the Liebieghaus in Frankfurt : Phintias Athenaios epoei . This vase was painted by the Frankfurt Eichellekythos painter named after her and represents his name vase . Two other vases, possibly also made by Phintias, are attributed to him.

He is not identical to the potter and vase painter of the same name Phintias , who was born in the late 6th century BC. Was active.
