Phocea is a sailing yacht that was built in 1976 as a four-masted schooner and originally used in international transocean regattas. In 1999 she was converted into a luxury yacht and can be chartered privately . With her overall length of 75.13 m, she is a super maxi yacht and one of the largest private sailing yachts in the world.

history

Alain Colas had this four- master built in 1976 under the name Club Mediterranée for the one-handed transatlantic race that has taken place every four years since 1960 , in which he took second place. The Phocea already reached over 30 knots under sail and made the Atlantic crossing in just over eight days. In 1986 the Phocea was converted into a private yacht for the French businessman Bernard Tapie .

The Lebanese multimillionaire Mouna Ayoub bought the yacht in 1997 in a poor condition for around 5 million euros and had it converted into a luxury yacht in 1999 at the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen (refit). The Phocea can be chartered for around 220,000 euros per week.
