Phoibe (wife of Danaos)
Phoibe ( ancient Greek Φοίβη Phoíbē ) is a hamadryad in Greek mythology , one of those nymphs who live in trees and are closely connected to the fate of the tree.
She is one of the wives of Danaos , with whom she had an indefinite number of his 50 daughters. A precise assignment of the daughter names - they are summarized with the daughters of the Hamadryad Atlanteie - is not possible based on tradition. These are Hippodameia , Rhodia , Cleopatra , Asteria , another Hippodameia, Glauke , Hippomedusa , Gorge , Iphimedusa , Rhode , Peirene , Dorion , Phartis , Mnestra , Euippe , Anaxibia and Nelo .
