The Phonogram GmbH was a German record company , which in 1972 from 1968 by Philips founded record company Phonogram Tongesellschaft mbH emerged and PolyGram belonged -Holding.

Phonogram produced and distributed in Germany sound carriers of the labels Philips and Fontana as well as u. a. also the foreign labels Casablanca , Mercury and Vertigo . In addition, radio plays for children and young people have been successfully published, including on the special Fass label .

In the 1980s Phonogram produced albums and singles by Yello , Palais Schaumburg , ABC , Bon Jovi , Soft Cell , The Fall , Kiss and Nina Hagen, among others . In the meantime, the company has merged into the Universal Music Group .

The company was based at Rödingsmarkt 14 in Hamburg from 1974 to 1984 ; after 1989 the company headquarters was in Cologne.
