Housing of Physa fontinalis
The genus Physa is the eponymous genus of the family of bladder snails (Physidae) (and their subfamily Physinae and tribe Physini). The family is placed under the subordination water pulmonary snails (Basommatophora) to the pulmonary snails (Pulmonata).
features
The housing is twisted to the left, two elongated jacket flaps encircle the housing. The apex is relatively blunt.
Systematics
The systematic scope of the genus is controversial, depending on how broad the genus is defined, a few species or several tens of species are added to the genus. Many species that have been described under the generic name Physa have now been assigned to other genera. Only one species occurs in Central Europe.
