Physiological Reviews , abbreviated to Physiol. Rev. is a scientific journal published by the American Physiological Society . The first edition appeared in January 1921. Currently four editions are published a year. The journal publishes reviews from various fields of physiology and biomedical sciences. The addressees are physiologists, neuroscientists, cell biologists, biophysicists and clinicians with a special interest in pathophysiology.
