Pi Anggong

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Pi Anggong (in Thai ปี่ อัง กอง ) belongs to the group of the reed wind instruments . It is played in the south of the Isan (the northeast of Thailand ).

The reed construction of the Pi Anggong is similar to that of the Pi Yen , but it is larger and produces a deeper sound.

The Pi Or is used as an accompaniment to singing and recitatives, but is also played in an ensemble with the Sor Kantrum and the Mahori on all occasions, except at funerals.
