Pia Benecke (born October 15, 1988 in Stralsund as Pia Marxkord ) is a former German soccer player. The midfielder plays for Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg .

Career

Marxkord began her career at the age of seven at FC Pommern Stralsund . In 1998 she moved to SSV Grün-Weiß Greifswald before moving to the 1st FFC Turbine Potsdam in 2001 . She played there first in the youth and later in the second team. In the 2007/08 season she won a regular place in the Bundesliga team and completed 16 games in her first season. During the 2008/09 season, Marxkord was initially only used in the second team. During the winter break, she moved to VfL Wolfsburg because she saw better sporting and professional prospects there.

With the U-19 national team, she was European champion in 2007 .
