Pia of Carthage

Saint Pia of Carthage was an early Christian martyr and suffered martyrdom around 300 in Carthage , a modern suburb of the city of Tunis , in northern Tunisia, together with Saint Picaria and 38 other Christians, presumably by crucifixion .

The female first name Pia comes from Latin and means the pious or the faithful to duty .

The feast day of Saints Pia and Picaria is January 19th .
