Piazza Barberini

Piazza Barberini is a square in the middle of the old town of Rome . It is one of the traffic hubs in the city center; There is also a stop for Line A of the Rome Metro .
The square was laid out in the 16th century. It has had its current name since 1625. It was named after the adjacent Palazzo Barberini . Until the 18th century, unknown dead were kept in the square so that they could be identified.
The Triton Fountain is on the square . Another fountain in the area is the Bees Fountain by Gian Lorenzo Bernini from 1644. It is located on Via Vittorio Veneto, not far from the square.
