Pick number

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pick numbers (based on the numismatist Albert Pick ) represent a classification system with which banknotes from all over the world and from all eras can be clearly identified.

The author Albert Pick used the numbers in his Standard Catalog of World Paper Money, which is widely used by banknote dealers and collectors around the world .

For example, the pick number P-38 in the German Federal Republic chapter denotes the 10 Deutsche Mark banknote with Carl Friedrich Gauß, the letter P-38d stands for the 1999 issue.
