The Piepenbrock Group is a German industrial and service company with headquarters in Osnabrück .

Company history

In 1913 August Etgeton founded a window cleaning institute in Osnabrück. In 1945 it was taken over by Eduard Piepenbrock in the second generation. Ten years later, Hartwig Piepenbrock joined the company and expanded it into one of the largest service companies in Germany. The scope of services at that time included, for example, greening, security services and industrial maintenance. In the 1960s the company achieved a turnover of 3.5 million DM with around 650 employees at that time and built up a nationwide network of branches in the following years. In 1975 Piepenbrock took over the Giese building cleaning company and doubled its annual turnover to 100 million DM.

In 2000, the sick Hartwig Piepenbrock handed over the management of the company to his children Astrid Hamker, Olaf and Arnulf Piepenbrock and to the two non-family board members Wilhelm Giertler and Paul Richter. In 2007, the company achieved sales of 347 million euros with around 24,000 employees. In 2008 the expansion to Austria followed, in 2009 the opening of the Piepenbrock Technology Center in Osnabrück.

Hartwig Piepenbrock - represented by his wife Maria-Theresia - holds 51 percent of the shares in the corporate group, the children hold 49 percent. In 2009 Astrid Hamker resigned as managing director.

The company is involved in local sports; a cultural foundation with a sculpture prize goes back to Hartwig Piepenbrock.
