Pier Davide Guenzi

Pier Davide Guenzi (born December 8, 1964 in Novara ) is an Italian Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

Guenzi studied philosophy and Roman Catholic theology . At the University of Milan he was employed as a lecturer in moral theology . Since 2019 Guenzi has been teaching moral theology at the John Paul II Pontifical Theological Institute for Marriage and Family Studies in Rome .

Positions

In February 2019, Guenzi stated that homosexual relationships can be morally good. Based on the experiences of homosexual believers, according to Guenzi, the insight should exist that “the connection between man and woman does not include all human forms of expression, not even with regard to the affective side. According to Guenzi, homosexual relationships would therefore express the potential and limits of human relationships in an affective manner, not only with regard to the moral assessment of behavior, but also as 'positive signs of the mutual enrichment of the people involved'.
