Pierra Menta

The Pierra Menta near Arêches-Beaufort in the Beaufortain region ( Savoy ) is a French ski mountaineering competition that has been held annually since 1985 and, along with the Patrouille des Glaciers and the Trofeo Mezzalama, is one of the three largest and most famous ski touring races in the Alps ( les grandes trois de ski de montagne ).

In four days, the athletes at Pierra Menta conquer a total of 10,000 meters in ascent and descent, although the route varies annually. It is run in teams of two. A short route with two daily stages is offered for the youngsters.
