Pierre Bacqueyrisses

Pierre Gabriel Bacqueyrisses (born June 19, 1893 in Cerbère ; † November 28, 1949 ) was a French entrepreneur and racing driver .

Entrepreneur

In 1925, Pierre Bacqueyrisses founded a car sales and repair workshop for vehicles of the Chenard & Walcker brand in Bordeaux , the Garage Bacqueyrisses . When the bus manufacturer Société des Usines Chausson took over the company share from Louis Chenard in 1935, Bacqueyrisses began selling and repairing minibuses and buses. In the 1930s, the company also became Simca's specialist workshop .

After the death of Pierre Bacqueyrisses in 1949, his son Pierre took over the management of the company, which is now in the fourth generation of one of the largest bus dealers in France.

Racing career

Through the connection to Chenard & Walcker, Bacqueyrisses took part as a driver in the Le Mans 24-hour race in 1924 . He was a partner of Georges Delaroche . Although he was able to finish the race, he was not classified due to the lack of distance covered.
