Pierre Gadonneix

Pierre Gadonneix (* 1943 in New York ) is a manager and president of the French electricity company EdF .

Life

Pierre Gadonneix studied at the École polytechnique until 1962 . From 1972 to 1975 he received his PhD from Harvard University . In 1969 he founded the IT company SEFI. Just three years later, he sold it and continued studying at Harvard. In 1976 he went into politics and became a consultant in the French Ministry of Industry. In 1978 he became head of the metal and electrical industry department.

From 1987 to 2004 he worked for Gaz de France (GdF). Initially, he was the company's general manager. In 1996 he was promoted to president.

From 2004 to 2009 he was the President of Électricité de France (EdF). His successor since 2009 is Henri Proglio .
