Pierre Michel (born June 11, 1942 in Toulon ) is a French literature professor and scientist who specializes in the writer Octave Mirbeau .

Life

After successfully defending his dissertation on the works of Octave Mirbeau at Angers University in 1992 , the son of historian Henri Michel founded the Société Octave Mirbeau a year later. In addition to his office as President of the Literature Society, he is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the Cahiers Octave Mirbeau Journal.

As Mirbeau's biographer, Michel has published scientific works on his complete works: novels, plays, articles and correspondence. After the publication of the first edition of his volume on Mirbeau's Correspondance générale , he was awarded the Sévigné Prize in October 2003.
