Pierre Mignard (born November 17, 1612 in Troyes , † May 30, 1695 in Paris ) was one of the most important French portrait painters of the neo-classical Baroque era . He was the younger brother of the painter Nicolas Mignard .

Mignard, together with Philippe de Champaigne and Hyacinthe Rigaud, shaped the development of the genre in the course of the 17th century. In addition to ecclesiastical paintings (dome in Val-de-Grace, Paris), he mainly created images of the Madonna, so-called “Mignardes” such as La Vierge à la grappe , as well as mythological and allegorical works.
