Pierre Nauton
Pierre Nauton (* 1912 in Saugues , † 1970 in Lyon ) was a French Romance philologist , dialectologist and linguist.
life and work
Nauton completed his habilitation in 1949 at the Universities of Paris and Clermont-Ferrand with the two theses Géographie linguistique de la Haute-Loire (published posthumously ud T. Géographie phonétique de la Haute-Loire , edited by Jean-Baptiste Martin [* 1943], Paris 1974), as well as Le Patois de Saugues Haute-Loire. Aperçu linguistique, terminologie rurale, littérature orale (Clermont-Ferrand 1948). He was a colleague of Pierre Gardette professor at the Catholic University of Lyon .
