Pierre Viette
Pierre Edmond Leon Viette ( June 29, 1921 - April 30, 2011 ) was a French entomologist .
He attended the University of Dijon during the German occupation of France in World War II and spent his entire career at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle in Paris . He specialized in the systematics of insects , especially that of butterflies . He published over 400 scientific articles.
In 1978 he was awarded the Karl Jordan Medal .
