Pierre de la Croterie

The Pierre de la Croterie (also called Chevanou) is a menhir in the hamlet of Croterie about 4.0 kilometers northwest of the city center of Chauvé near Saint-Père-en-Retz or Pornic in the Loire-Atlantique department in France .

The menhir consists of two sandstone blocks ; one is in a vertical position and a slightly smaller one is next to it. The dimensions of the standing menhir are: height 4.2 m, width 3.2 m and thickness at the base 1.0 m. It is likely that it was originally a piece that broke during transport from the original Les Platennes location near the hamlet of La Hourserie.

The menhir has been listed as a Monument historique since 1985 .
