Pierre du Fouret

The menhir Pierre du Fouret (also called Palet de Gargantua or Menhir von Gency ), classified as a Monument historique since 1889, is located near the D 922 (Rue de Vauréal 57) in the hamlet of Gency near Pontoise on the southern edge of the Val-d'Oise department in France .

The bright menhir , consisting of a 3.75 m high and 5.4 m wide soft sandstone slab with an average thickness of about 0.5 m, is associated with the legend of the Gargantua according to local folklore and is supposed to grow every year thereafter.
