Pietro Giacomo Rogeri

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pietro Giacomo Rogeri (* 1665 ; † 1724 ) was an Italian violin maker .

Like his younger brother Giovanni Paolo (1667 – before 1705), Pietro Giacomo Rogeri worked as an assistant to his father Giovanni Battista Rogeri from around 1690 . His earliest own instruments date from 1705. In terms of quality, they followed on from his father's work, but he often omitted the filetti ( wooden inserts on the edge of the soundboard) and used a poorer quality of lacquer.
