Pietro Paolo Sabbatini

Pietro Paolo Sabbatini (* 1600 in Rome ; † 1657 ibid) was an Italian composer of the musical baroque , music director and musician.

Life

Sabbatini lived and worked most of his life in Rome. From 1628 to 1630 he was conductor and music director of the “ Arciconfraternita della Morte et Orazione ” in Rome and from 1630 to 1631 he was also the musical director of the Roman church of San Luigi dei Francesi . He composed sacred music and contemporary popular vocal music such as Lieder, Villanelle , Capricci . His textbook on sacred music " Toni Ecclesiastici Colle sue Intonazioni all'Uso Romano " was published in 1650.
