Pillar ( English for column , pillar ) is a towering rock pillar on the Antarctic Ross Island . It is an exposed plug in a volcanic crater on Cape Barne .
Participants in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) led by British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott named the object descriptively.
