The Pilot Peak ( English for pilots tip is) with 745 meters the highest mountain of Larrouy Island in Grandidier Channel before the Graham Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula .
Participants in the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot mapped it. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1959. It is named after the fact that the mountain serves as a landmark that can be seen from afar for navigation through the Grandidier Canal.
