Pilsator is the name for an after Pilsner kind of brewing first in the Bohemian Brewery Berlin-Friedrichshain produced beer . The name came about in 1908 as a result of a competition.

After the Second World War , the naturalized name continued to be used in East Germany . In contrast to normal Pilsner beer , it has a more bitter taste because more hops are used (16 g / hl instead of 11.5 g / hl for Pilsner, given in "g of effective bitter substances" - TGL 7764). It differs from export in that it uses less malt .

Today the Frankfurt brewery is the owner of this brand .
