Pinduca (born June 4, 1937 in Igarapé-Mirim , Pará ), actually Aurino Quirino Gonçalves is a Brazilian musician .

Life

Pinduca is a singer and composer. He is one of the most famous musicians in the Amazon region and has made over 30 records since 1973. Pinduca is known as the King of Carimbó and has also played an important role in popularizing the Lambada . He comes from a family of musicians and began his career as a pandeiro player at the age of 14 . At the age of 16 he played in Abaetetuba in the Orquestra Brasil , then as a drummer in Belém in the Orquestra de Orlando Pereira and then in a police orchestra. In 1957 he founded his own band.

Pinduca is the holder of the Ordem do Mérito Cultural , cultural ambassador of the state of Pará and cultural secretary of his home community Igarapé-Mirim.
