history
Before founding Pinterest Inc., Ben Silbermann worked in the online advertising workgroup at Google. With his college friend Paul Sciarra and the former Facebook employee, Evan Sharp, he developed the idea for Pinterest in California from 2009. Pinterest Inc. was founded in March 2010 and the first version of Pinterest went online for a closed group of users. In the fall, the three founders then unsuccessfully looked for a major investor or buyer for Pinterest. In the spring, the founders developed Pinterest for the iPhone. As a result, Time magazine listed Pinterest among the 50 best new websites. In December 2011, Pinterest had 11 million weekly visitors, making it in the top 10 social networks. From 2012, anyone could register on Pinterest without an invitation. It was then that Pinterest started raising venture capital. At the end of October, Pinterest then created the option of business accounts. In 2013, Pinterest had 40 million users. Pinterest also announced the new Promoted Pins feature . In 2017, Pinterest increased its share capital by $ 150 million and the company was valued at more than $ 10 billion.

On April 18, 2019, Pinterest Inc. (NYSE: "PINS") went public on the New York Stock Exchange at a price of $ 19 per share . On the first day of trading, the stock made a jump of almost 25% to $ 24.85 by the end of trading.
