Murine coronavirus

Murine coronavirus is a virus type of the virus genus Betacoronavirus and its type.

It was formed in 2009 due to a close genetic relationship ("> 97% a [mino] a [cid] identity") from the then species Murine hepatitis virus , Rat coronavirus and Puffinosis coronavirus , which then became the subspecies Murine hepatitis virus , Rat coronavirus and puffinosis coronavirus were. It was selected as a type of the genus Betacoronavirus , which was newly formed at the same time from the previous Group 2 coronaviruses.
