Piper's Grave Cists
The three Piper's Grave Cists are stone boxes from the Bronze Age , which were largely destroyed in the 18th century west of Ednam north of Kelso not far from Eden Water, a tributary of the Tweed in the Scottish Borders in Scotland .
The stone boxes were found in a small hill north of Stichill Road, according to Ednam. Most of the flat stone slabs have been removed. Only a 25 cm thick slab of local sandstone measuring 2.15 m long by 1.3 m wide remained standing upright at the top of the hill known as Piper's Tomb .
One box contained an urn , which makes it likely that the boxes were from the Bronze Age .
