Piquet (unit)

The piquet was a French measure of volume and grain in Picardy . The piquet was relatively consistent in size. The number on the Setier / Septier, which is different in size in the other cities, for example ( Calais = 8380 Parisian cubic inches ) could be up to 21 piquets. In Guise , the Septier was also called Jalois with 2580 Parisian cubic inches, which corresponded to a number of around 6½ piquets and made about 51.125 liters .

  • Amiens 1 piquet = 403 Parisian cubic inches = 8 liters (7.99 liters)
  • Amiens 4 piquets = 1 septier = 1612 Parisian cubic inches
