The Piso-Gading is a sword from Sumatra.

description

The Piso-Gading has a slightly curved, heavy, single-edged blade with an S-shaped handle. The blade becomes narrower from the handle to the location and tapers to a point. The blade is slightly bulbous at the cutting edge and slightly curved at the back. The hilt has no guard and is often made from a solid piece of horn or ivory. The booklet is usually decorated with traditional carvings. The scabbards are usually made of leather , wood or brass and reinforced and decorated with silver ribbons. The Piso-Gading is used by the Batak ethnic groups on Sumatra.
