The Pistojärvi (also Tichtojärvi , Russian Тихтозеро, Tichtosero ) is a lake in Kalewala Rajon in the northwest of the Republic of Karelia in northwest Russia .
The 39.9 km² large lake is traversed by the Pistojoki from north to south and drained to the Verkhneje Kuito . Lake Tirosero to the east is drained by the Ochta River to Pistojärvi.
The lake is located in an almost deserted area. The former municipality of Pistojärvi extended over this area.
