church

In the middle of the village is the chapel dedicated to the “Mother of the Redeemer”. It was built in 1908 by the farmer Anton Knöckl, the grandfather of the current farm owner, and has recently been renovated.

Pitzling belongs to the current parish of Hartkirchen, which was mentioned in a document as early as 1257.

The original name of the parish was Hartkirchen an der Vils, as the parish church was located there. It was only mentioned in the 15th century under the name Pitzling parish, as the parish with 88 days of property was located here .

The parish belonged to the deanery Aidenbach until 1904 and was only assigned to the deanery Landau an der Isar in 1905 .

The parish church of Hartkirchen was rebuilt from 1769 to 1775 after the former Gothic church was demolished and was consecrated to the Assumption of Mary.

The church tower dates back to the second half of the 13th century. The current neighboring parish of Ramsdorf also belonged to the Pitzling-Hartkirchen parish from the start.

It only became a branch in the 17th century and became its own parish in 1909 . Today the parish of Pitzling-Hartkirchen belongs to the Eichendorf parish association.

school

As early as 1694, a parish school is noted in the parish books, to which Pitzling also belonged.

In 1737 a school house was built, which also served as a teacher's apartment. In 1885 a new school was built by the community or the school association, and the last schoolhouse has been standing since 1963.

The children from Pitzling and the surrounding area attended elementary school in Hartkirchen. Up until the school closed on August 2, 1972, there were 35 teachers working in Hartkirchen.

On August 24, 1820, the municipality of Hartkirchen with the villages of Eichet, Einstorf, Gschaid, Hütt, Kuföd, Ölling, Pitzling, Reuth, Steinberg and Wochenweis is noted in the books for the first time.

The community existed in this formation until December 31, 1971, i.e. about 150 years. Then the parish of Hartkirchen was incorporated into the Eichendorf market.
