criticism

The book is very controversial among Catholics as well as historians, since Cornwell makes the claim, among other things, that Pacelli was to blame for the outbreak of the First World War through the Serbian Concordat . Cornwell is also accused of serious translation errors. They are said to have multiplied when the book was translated into German.
