Pixley Falls State Park is a state park in the municipality of Boonville in Oneida County , New York , United States.
geography
The park covers an area of 375 acres (1.52 km²). It is located on New York State Route 46 , 18 mi (29 km) north of Rome and 6 mi (9.7 km) southwest of Boonville , near the settlement Hurlbutville .
In addition to Route 46 , the ruins of the Black River Canal also run along the road. The waterfalls that gave the park its name are formed by the Lansing Kill , which at this point bends in a steep curve in its course from north to south to west. The falls are 50 ft (15 m) high. Immediately adjacent to the state park are Jackson Hill State Forest , Buck Hill State Forest, and Clark Hill State Forest .
Freetime activities
The park offers views of the eponymous waterfall, which can be reached via a short hiking trail. There is a nature trail, picnic, hiking, fishing, hunting, and skiing. Camping has not been allowed in the park since 2010.
