Plakoglobin (synonyms: junction plakoglobin , γ-catenin ) is a structural protein of cell contacts such as desmosomes and adherens junctions . It is homologous to beta-catenin . Plakoglobin binds to cell contacts on the cytosolic side and connects cadherins with the cytoskeleton .
