Leveling (construction)

Leveling (also leveling ) is the creation of flat surfaces with no or a uniform slope ( gradient ), e.g. for later development or stable embankments . For this purpose, unevenness is removed or filled by removal. In construction , flat surfaces are called planar .

The soil is leveled using bulldozers and graders . In this context, demolition and clearing can also be colloquially referred to as leveling if buildings or vegetation are removed.
