Plankton is a Winterthur indie pop band that was founded in 1997 by five high school students from the Rychenberg Cantonal School and plays their songs in Swiss German .
history
The band made their first public appearance in 1998 in Winterthur in the Alte Kaserne. Since then, Plankton has been giving concerts on a regular basis . The five became well known throughout Switzerland with the song “ Die wo nid chönd Tschutte ” (Those who can't play football) from their album “Hallo Erde”. The video for this was shot in the Schützenwiese stadium , Bernard Thurnheer has a guest appearance as a commentator. The band's singer, Reto Karli, presented his solo project Karli in December 2015 in the Theater am Gleis .
